Further Reducing the Risk of Cancer

While vaccines may be useful in countering human papilllomavirus and cervical cancer, the Cancer Health Center has designed a list of simple tips and suggestions that can be effective for preventing other types of cancer

According to a new report by the American Institute for Cancer Research and the World Cancer Research Fund, about a third of some of the most common forms of cancer can be prevented by a healthy diet, limiting the consumption of alcoholic beverages, and physical fitness

It is estimated that approximately 340,000 cases of cancer can be prevented annually in the United States if these guidelines are followed

One of the most critical and effective ways to combat cancer is through exercise

According to Tim Armstrong of the World Health Organization, “Physical activity is recommended for people of all ages as a means to reduce risks for certain types of cancers and other non-communicable diseases,”

In addition, avoiding prolonged sun exposure and quitting smoking can also be effective in reducing the risk of cancer
