HPV Transmission

HPV is a sexually transmitted disease. It, like other STDs, is passed on through sexual contact. However, pentration does not have to occur for HPV to be passed. The virus can also be passed on through oral and anal sexual contact. Because this virus is an STD, it effects mostly women. However, there are a significant number of men whose lives have also been changed by Human Papillomavirus. Once sexual contact has occurred, the virus builds up in the infected host, causing many symptoms, such as warts, especially on the genetalia. In a way, HPV could be compared to HIV, because both of these viruses are transmitted through all kinds of sexual contact.
